RESPONSABILITATI

1.PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Undertake the Testing and Commissioning of signalling schemes in accordance with defined principles and practices and the requirements of the Signalling Works Testing Handbook (SWTH) and to prepare resource plans.

2.FUNCTIONS
?To be compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act, occupational and system safety requirements.
?Produce testing strategies, testing plans and safety plans for all schemes which take account of staff requirements, possessions, work programme, risk assessment and safe methods of working to meet customer requirements.
?Undertake testing and commissioning of signalling involved with large and small schemes to requirements of SWTH and complete documentation as necessary.
?Undertake testing as part of the investigation into wrongside failures and assist with independent testing for major incidents.
?Undertake second line faulting investigation as requested by the Signalling Testing Manager and as directed by the Testing Engineer.
?Ensure full understanding of information and instructions issued by the Senior Testing Engineer and seek clarification if any subjects are unclear.
?Co-operate with all Managers and Supervisors within and without the function to ensure the customer requirements are met.

3.EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIUTES
Specific Qualifications : OTC, ONC, B Tech or Advanced City and Guilds.
Certificates or Licences to be held: Carillion Driving Licence, Lookout, COSS, PTS, AC and DC Electrified Lines, Emergency First Aid, Fire Training, SWTH Modules 1A, 3A and 3B, 4, 5, IRSE Licences Tester and Tester in Charge.

4.STAFF
There are two posts reporting directly to this position.

5.SPECIFIC SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that when working on site all site-specific rules and regulations are adhered to.
Ensure that Method Statements are briefed and adhered to.
Ensure all personnel under your direction possess the relevant information, documentation, competency and experience to undertake the specific tasks to the appropriate safety standards and procedures at all times.
Ensure there is no harm to employees, clients, contractors, public or railway customers.
General responsibilities of all staff as laid out in Company Policy Manual.
