RESPONSABILITATI

1.PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To develop, plan, progress and monitor signalling works to ensure completion to specification standards, budget and safety requirements.

2.Functions
? To be compliant with Health and Safety at Work Legislation and System Safety requirements for all staff involved in Works activities. Ensure preparation of Method Statements and Work Plans for all activities.
? In conjunction with the Signal Construction Supervisor and Project Assistant produce Work Programmes and Resource Schedules for schemes. Liaise with Design and Testing Engineers, as required, to achieve works programmes.
?Maintain progress records and produce progress reports as necessary. Liaison with Client and Maintenance Contractors.
?Monitor expenditure against budget and produce expenditure forecasts as required
?Ensure Submission of Possessions applications and liaison with Railtrack and other Contractors regarding work requirements in possessions.
?Review construction drawings to ensure compliance with contract and preparation of Change Notifications as necessary. Record additional works, interference etc.
?Carry out site surveys and inspections as part of the progress and development of works.

3.Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications
Technical qualifications in Electrical Engineering to at least HNC Level.
A good all round knowledge of railway signalling, preferably having completed a student / graduate engineering course.
Experience in Supervisor / Technical activities essential

4.Staff
The post has no direct reports but provides leadership and guidance to contractors, supervisory and installation staff as required.
5.Specific Safety Responsibilities
To provide Method Statements and Risk Assessment for all activities, and carry out checks and inspections to ensure conformance.
General responsibilities of all staff as laid out in Company Policy Manual.
