JOB:
As a Java developer you will challenge technology in various business domains (e.g. Trading, contracting, billing, payments, CRM and reporting) in an Agile / Scrum environment together with your team members. You’ll need excellent Java development and good communication skills to excel in our cross functional teams. The solutions we work on are very complex so your problem solving and analytical skills must truly be on a very high level.
The team is rapidly expanding. At the moment we are recruiting Java developers, although more languages even better. Both junior, medium and senior lead developers, although we don’t capture this in specific function profiles, this will be reflected in the offer we make.
COMPANY PROFILE
Will you build us the IT infrastructure and software to sign up 1.000 new Energy business clients per week? For this, our Dutch partner needs energetic Java developers!
Building the IT architecture of the future (where we stand and where we’re going): Powerhouse Solutions will be the largest Business-IT solution provider for energy companies by 2017. Powerhouse Solutions is an internal start-up company within the large European corporate RWE. We kick-started as a start-up by building Powerhouse retail, developing our own systems. Now we are ready to rock the energy market with new and innovative systems.
STARTDATE: the sooner, the better, but negotiable and flexible
• At least 3 years work experience as a Java developer, J2EE.
• Experienced in: Rest, JSON, XML, Web Services, WSDL, SOAP, XSLT, JAXB, SOA, SpringMVC, iBatis, Mybatis, JSF 1.2, Agular JS, JavaScript, JDBC, (PL) SQL, Oracle.
• Any additional stuff welcome: NoSQL, Big Data, trading systems experience....
Techniques & team skills:
• Hands-on experience in a Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Business sense: you balance technical perfection with business needs and priorities. Preferably you have experience in an Energy or Utility environment or in one of the business domains we mentioned earlier.
• Good communication and team skills – please elaborate in your application on the role you played in your previous teams and how you worked with both technical as well as business colleagues.
Personality:
• Start-up mentality: Willing to take ownership and 'getting things done' mentality; You’re developer by daytime, coffee-guy at lunch, and are okay to help us pack up every couple of months and move to a bigger location because we’ve outgrown current housing.
• Smart, analytical, communicative, pro-active, responsible, flexible.
