The role: Commercial Executive (Financial Analyst)

Role, Purpose, and Scope

Independent contributor with no people management responsibilities.
• Advisor, helper, facilitator for Service Delivery community
• Help Service Delivery community know their business better
• Help ensure that accounts and forecasts are accurate
• Support creation of accurate business cases and new business proposals
Supports his/her manager in delivering their responsibilities and liaises with internal cross functional teams.

Major Responsibilities

Ensure that the month end P&L is correct and available in a timely fashion for all accounts in the relevant region. This can include:
• Validate lease charges from Xerox Finance by account and take necessary action e.g. advise Sales of device status change
• Ensure all accounts submit job tickets and meter reads to the relevant system (e.g. Mercury) in support of the accounting process
• Manage the process for calculating FSMA (device service charges) and rental charges
• Regular review of all numbers as they flow through the books prior to month end and to final close, to ensure they are as expected and correct – resolve in a timely manner any errors or queries. Cascade account P&L statements and detailed make-up of these to Service Delivery account teams. Be available to answer any queries. Review reports of loss making accounts ( otherwise known as ‘Red Sites’) - identify causes and propose actions.
Own responses to the “P&L query” process e.g. (a) correcting errors (b) answering queries.

Arrange monthly P&L reviews with Service Delivery community. This is a two way process (a) answering questions (b) jointly creating opportunities.
Review with Service Delivery account teams to coach in processes e.g. for month end accounting and results interpretation.
Propose outlook numbers to manager based on experience, results, input from the account team. Flag any significant unusual items which could affect profitability positively or adversely.
Ensure integrity of Value Plus reporting for the relevant region.
Support manager in new deal / existing deal change processes.
One-off projects as required by the business.


CERINTE

Background, skills, experience and qualifications

• A good people communicator-being able to communicate with cross functional teams.
• Financial acumen, quick learner, self-starter
• Numerate with an ordered and structured mindset - accounting experience is beneficial but not a pre-requisite
• A good knowledge of Excel
• Previous experience of working in a business environment – preferably in a large company environment
• Process Improvement
Important:
• An understanding of financial systems e.g. SAP
Basic understanding of business processes

Role specific competencies and requirements

- Microsoft Tool suite – Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook
- Xerox specific tool suite such as Mercury billing will be provided as part of knowledge transfer
- Financial modelling
- Finance experience is a plus
