Design Consultant in Cloud and Hosting Services
On behalf of one of our clients, a world leading mobile telecoms company that delivers innovative products and services to customers in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the United States, we are looking to find a Design Consultant in Cloud and Hosting Services.
As a Design Consultant in Cloud and Hosting Services you will be part of a team that provides high-quality solutions for our client’s internal and external customers. With customer focus a key element, it is the responsibility of the Design Consultant to carefully account for customer requirements and utilise the best-of-breed technologies to generate optimal hosting designs. Each solution will consider customer budget, functionality and future requirements along with internal implementation, development and support considerations.
The Design Specialist role requires a professional who has a strong technical understanding combined with excellent leadership and communication qualities. Each member of the team brings specific knowledge and experience to provide consultancy on areas of expertise to his or her colleagues and customers alike. You will be expected to contribute to this function through meetings, presentations and video / voice conferencing, relying significantly upon your verbal communication and presentation skills. This in turn will complement your detailed written designs.
The Design Consultant must be fluent in German and English, and capable of holding detailed technical discussions at all levels in both languages. The role is based in Germany and will require some travel to the UK and other central Europe operating countries.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Design and develop innovative and competitive technical solutions, working both individually and in virtual technical teams.
• Understand customers’ business requirements and ensure this is reflected in the C&W design. Influence and maximise the commercial & technical benefits of the proposed solution to the customer
• Assist in the qualification of new business opportunities with solution consultants and account teams ensuring they are of a high technical standard.
• Technically lead the recommendation of proposals and solutions to customer Director Level by demonstrating an understanding of the solutions’ technical and financial benefits to the customer.
• Produce customer specific documentation including diagrams for presentations, proposals and orders.

• Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to develop new skills in previous roles.
• Able to identify and influence key decision makers
• Ability to determine the critical success factors
• Ability to make considered decisions about the best use of technology in large enterprise environments
• Diplomatically assertive
Technical competence includes one or more of the following:
• Cisco Professional Level – CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, CCIP, CCVP or CCIE.
• Checkpoint - CCSE
• Server Technologies – MCSE, Solaris, VMware VCP.
• Security – CISSP
Must have’s:
• Design infrastructure background
• Customer facing
• Pre-sales experience
• Fluent in German and English
Location: Frankfurt am Main (Home Office possible)
