• Is responsible for the daily and preventive maintenance of the machinery (production lines), the factory and office buildings, the utility installations, etc
• Leads and coaches a team of technicians and maintenance people. Ensure the technical staff is adequately trained and up to date on new techniques to perform their duties. Performs regular evaluations of the technical staff
• Uses the ERP system to manage work orders, to plan interventions and maintenance schedules, to keep track and to order spare parts
• Maintains good relationship with all external providers of technical services and is responsible for and/or involved with price negotiations with providers
• Performs the necessary controls on external providers, the work performed and the invoices made and runs a good and thorough administration of the department
• Keeps track and reports the monthly KPI’s for the department, provides the necessary explanation of deviations and takes the required decisions to manage KPI’s to achieve targets
• Is responsible for the department’s timely and cost effective delivery of objectives, work orders, etc within budget and with the planned resources. Provides plant management with the necessary monthly operation reports. Elaborates the annual budget for the technical department
• Analyses technical development and innovation in the market and at competitors.
• Coordinates (complex) technical tasks, making optimal use of all technical equipment to contribute to an increase in plant productivity
• Participates in the development and implementation of all investments that require the assistance and/or intervention of the technical department and ensures that investment plans are carried out according to budget and time schedule
• Ensures a save, clean and productive working environment. Ensures the necessary health, fire prevention, environment protection and security procedures are in place in accordance with applicable regulations to protect the Company, its employees and their properties.
• Professional Know-How: university or technical university (master‘s) degree (~ 4-6 years university degree) plus approx. 2-4 years of experience or continuously educated and trained practitioner with many years of professional experiences;
• Business Awareness: autonomous considerations regarding planning and process relate to complex operational management of heterogeneous functions/resources/teams and heterogeneously structured projects with a long term perspective;
• Social Competence: direct leadership of subordinated people (face-to-face); responsibility for appraisal and development of employees; creates and maintains trustworthy external relationships;
• Scope of Thinking: need to improve, redesign or innovate operational processes, structures, systems or products;
• Degree of Difficulty: diverse complex situations and diverging problems; varying changes and complex interfaces;
• Autonomy of Decision: business and functional objectives and strategies are given;
