RESPONSABILITATI

The IT Operations Engineer handles alerts and failures highlighted by the IT monitoring systems and takes appropriate actions to resolve them. When necessary, utilises support from technical experts within the organisation and third parties, as required, in order to provide a resolution.

Make Your Next Step

IT Operations Engineers have to solve a variety of network and application problems, including those that may not have standard resolution methods. In such cases, they have to be able to apply methods based solely on their own technical knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Handle alerts and incidents and follow them through completion or escalation - analyse the alert or incident and, depending on complexity and resolution time constraints, either solve it or seek help;
• Collaborate with remote teams, customer technical staff or third parties, to resolve alerts and incidents;
• Assess, troubleshoot and escalate user problems to specialized teams when necessary;
• Ensure that monitoring is in place for all IT and service assets as triggered by change control or the introduction of new services, and regular auditing of IT and service assets for compliance to standards;
• Grasp information in several formats, including print, verbal and pictorial representations, and improve the existing knowledge base;
• Work on a shift pattern schedule.
