Web Developer with an eCommerce focus

RESPONSABILITATI

Fidelia People’s Card SRL is a Romanian outsourcing company. We work with Canadian, and US partners supporting eCommerce ( Magento ) , in-house developed IPTV and a VOD ( Video on Demand ) distribution network based on Adobe Media Server, back office operations ( accounting ( SAP ), collaboration ( Microsoft Exchange and Lync ), content management ( WordPress ) ) .

Fidelia is looking for a web developer with an eCommerce focus to :
- add business functionality to the existing eCommerce Magento system
- design and test eCommerce code to be cluster-ready
- use testing tools like JMeter to assess performance impact of new code
- develop eCommerce reports ( Magento, MySQL )
- design integration points between the eCommerce system and accounting, marketing and IPTV systems
- assist the new POS project in integrating with the eCommerce system
- assist the launching of new Magento storefronts for Netherlands, Belgium and India
- troubleshoot and fix bugs within the existing codebase - update online ticket systems in a considerate manner based on written and verbal input

You will deal on a regular basis with a small core group of IT and business clients using your soft skills over collaboration channels like email, ticketing systems, VOIP, Microsoft Lync video conferencing, blog and wiki. Training can be provided in these specific systems, you just need to pick things up quickly.
Email-grade English skills are nice to have, however your Magento knowledge is much more important than your command of English language.
You will interact with IT people whom are at a senior skill level in their field, however it is likely you will be the most knowledgeable in the PHP and Magento area.
Development activities use languages like PHP, Java , Ruby on Rails on Linux ( Debian, Gentoo, CentOS ) and Windows Servers running on bare metal and virtualization platforms ( Proxmox , KVM, Microsoft HyperV ). The SCM toolkit includes Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Redmine.
The eCommerce Magento system spans development, test, pre-production and production environments and consists in a multi-node cluster using Nginx/php-fpm.

There is a well defined group of outside business clients which interact with IT and are located mostly in Canada and USA , coming from a variety of world cultures.
We are looking for a person with a non-confrontational demeanour , whom likes and is able to project a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere.

As we grow together you will be given gradually increasing responsibilities and authority.

As a collaborator of FPC we may choose to have a flexible schedule, with the possibility to work full time or part time according to needs and availability. We can experiment and find the optimal mix of remote and face-to-face work.
The office location is in Bucharest, Sector 1, close to Piata Dorobantilor with easy access to the bus and subway network.
