PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Within SAP Consulting, the Global Delivery Center is a group that provides remote SAP consulting service to SAP customers. This group serves customers worldwide via tight cooperation with other local SAP consulting teams. This means worldwide delivery commitment in areas including SAP ERP application, SAP Supply Chain Management application, SAP Customer Relation Management application, SAP Strategic Enterprise Management application, SAP Supplier Relationship Management application, and solutions for Retail and Financial Services industries.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Able to set up development guidelines and methodologies
- Beyond coding, willing to take lead positions in the projects
- Act as trusted adviser to the customer
- Manage customer expectations and avoid any escalations
- Support the pre-sales activities
- Independently run initiatives to improvise processes or provide new process steps
- Work on projects executed across geographies and cultures
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
In addition to a strong technical background, the position requires strong problem-solving and consulting capabilities with the ability to adapt, rise to challenges and communicate effectively in a team environment.
The ideal candidate has:
- University degree, preferably in engineering (bachelor in engineering, or master degree in computer applications, business administration, or science)
- Familiar with the development lifecycle: evaluating functional specs, preparation of technical specs, coding, reviews, unit testing, technical issue resolution, and so on
- Ability to quickly design and develop prototype applications
- Ability to research, prototype, design, code, test, and document new features and enhancements for software applications
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct software bugs in released applications
- Advanced / Proficient with J2EE (JSP, Servlets, Struts): development of business applications based on struts framework
- Advanced / expert with HTML (CSS)
- Proficient with NWDI (SAP Netweaver Development Infrastructure)
- Proficient with Webdynpro for Java programming and SAP Portal development
- Advanced knowledge about Java calls on ABAP function modules
- Sound IT knowledge (operation systems, databases, and application servers)
- Exposure to project management or project management methodologies is an asset
FOREIGN LANGUAGES
- English at business level is mandatory.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Possess a minimum of 5 years experience working in a professional software development capacity
- Ideally mixed with system integration or consulting experience
