The Opportunity
In today’s business world, IT and financial reporting environments are becoming increasingly complex while even greater reliance is being placed on the information produced by these systems and processes. In addition, new regulations in many countries have put a greater emphasis on internal controls and often require independent assurance of the design and the operating effectiveness of internal controls.
Attention to the design, documentation and operation of controls is critical to ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of information used for financial reporting and management decision-making.
Our services enable organizations to gain comfort that their systems, processes and risk management procedures are operating effectively within a well-controlled environment.
We are looking for highly motivated graduates in an IT-related discipline for a 3-5 months internship in our Risk Assurance Services department, starting from November 2012.
What will you do as an intern?
Receive in-house training in IT general controls ( Development, change management, access to program and data, computer operations);
Shadow Seniors on the job;
Assist seniors in documenting their work and in this process learn how to document their work;
Gradually independently handling IT general controls work in less complex environment duly supervised by seniors;
Learn the concept of automated controls and how to test them;
Develop report writing skill.
If you are a final year student or fresh graduate (preferably in the last year of your master’s studies) of an IT-related degree (Polytechnics, Cybernetics), you have the opportunity to join us as an intern. Strong analytical and IT skills, coupled with a drive for professional development and advanced English skills are prerequisites for this position.
You must know that the first stage of the application process is submitting the application form and taking 2 online tests: Numerical Reasoning and Logical Reasoning. These tests are an important part of your application, and will help us to get a better understanding of your skills and competencies. You should ensure that you have about 60 minutes available to complete both tests and ensure, as much as possible, that you will not be interrupted or disturbed (you may need some rough paper and a calculator to hand to answer the questions). You can complete it later by log in to your account. You will be given the opportunity to read instructions and take a practice test before taking the real test.
