Job purpose
As member of the Product Development Team in our hub in Timisoara, the right incumbent will be responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the mechanical workshop. This is a skilled level mold and prototyping manufacturing position. He/She is responsible for creation of mold components, prototypes, and fixtures, providing technical solutions and support to the design and testing team. He/she is accountable for meeting goals and for the operation of the machine shop, the designing of prototypes and molds in CAD/CAM systems, programming of CNC machinery and the operation of the conventional tooling for manufacturing high tolerance components. He/she will act as technical consultant to support manufacturing machining operations. This position requires the analysis to determine that special machinery, equipment, or tooling fabrication is feasible and that current personnel, equipment, material and product design will meet tooling/prototyping requirements.
Key accountabilities
Fabricating, fit and assembly, in high quality, and on time delivery of assigned tooling and prototypes.
Coordinate jobs with CNC and conventional machinery.
Ability to support other members of the team in order to reach a common goal and other departments within the company.
Troubleshoot mold problems and help keep production molds in efficient operating condition.
Responsible to prioritize work in order to meet due dates while delivering the finest quality.
Accountable to utilize CAD/CAM software to interpret assembly or components.
Ensures that all aspects of generated tool orders meet the quality requirements.
Able to successfully work on several projects simultaneously.
Accountable to run tool room equipment safely and effectively.
Respond on time to queries raised and concern matters of clarity and/or specific instructions and guidance.
Schedule working hours to be consistent with work load.
Track program and product action items and take necessary steps to ensure they are accomplished.
Management of tooling maintenance schedule, all stock, cutting tools, grinding supplies, oils, cleaners, etc.
Required qualifications and experience
Diploma of a technical school related to the subject. Bachelor or MS/ in Mechanical Engineering is desired
Technical skills
5 + years of experience in mold-prototyping building and machining experience (experience on multinational company will be considered positively)
Experience with CNC machining requirements, press mold as well as thermoforming molds
Proficient user of the English language and IT literate
